The New Inn

14 Long Street, Cerne Abbas, Dorset, DT2 7JF, United Kingdom

Below are a few of the many glowing reviews that our guests have been kind enough to send us or leave on Trip Advisor:

"We have just returned from a lovely three days at the New Inn. We were extremely honoured to be the first guests to stay after an extensive refurbishment project. Despite some finishing touches still underway, the owner Jeremy made us feel really important and ensured our stay was flawless. the rooms are finished to a very high standard and a lot of effort had been put into the fine detail and to maintaining the character of the listed buildings."

"The bar and restaurant are very comfortable and the food was to a very high standard, all of the staff are so friendly and helpful, but most of all the efforts put in by Jeremy really made our stay a pleasure. There are still some rooms to be finished but we have already booked to go back and stay again in one of the new suites. Really looking forward to staying again in the charming village of Cerne Abbas, but mostly anticipating the slipper bath!"

"Three of us ate lunch here in June and were most impressed. The food is beautiful to look at and delicious as well. Most impressive was the turbot served atop julienned asparagus with truffled hollandaise sauce. Yum! Servers and the owner all were friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is bright and clean, betraying the inn's age (1200s I believe). If I ever visit England again, I'll be sure to return."

"What a fantastic pub, hotel and restaurant in a beautiful location. The staff were professional and very friendly and we were made welcome from the second we arrived to when we left after our 2 night stay."

"The rooms are are stunning and beautifully furnished. Our friends and our family had the two suites which were spacious and extremely comfortable."

"the food and wine is second to none with a great choice of meats and fish which suited both our families with children."

"We will definitely be returning and if you are in the area it is a must!"

"Congratulations, Jeremy, on a stunning renovation that has transformed the erstwhile rather old fashioned inn into a superb restaurant/pub of real character. We have missed the place since the work began but today returned for the new style Sunday lunch par excellence. Tender and succulent rare beef with a crispy Yorkshire, a generous selection of fresh vegatables, a jug of gravy all presented in individual dishes for each couple to share."

"Glad to say the full range of Palmers draught beers is on offer and tasting as good as ever."

"Not cheap, but very good value as everything was of high quality and the service by the team impeccable, despite being fully booked. We looked at the new accommodation cottages off the old courtyard and they are stunning with beautiful furnishings and fittings. The car park is a huge improvement too."

"Time and a few more visits will tell but on today's outing we think this is about as good as it gets."

"We had a wonderful stay at the New Inn in this beautiful village. We received exceptional service from the Innkeeper and his staff. All of our needs were addressed and the level of care exceeded what we would have envisioned."

"We love excellent food and our trip included many fine restaurants and pubs. The food at the New Inn was the best food we had during our 10-day trip."

"I didn't stay at this inn but enjoyed a great meal there. Had the tastiest soup (served with a herbed bread), which in itself would have sufficed as the main course. The landlord kindly gave me some "rest" time before the main course was brought out. The basic menu has an interesting choice of food, getting away from the boring standard of "pub grub". Plus they have a 'Specials' menu that is equally varied, interesting and tempting. I tried the spelt risotto - again a massive portion - and I loved it. Couldn't finish it, but wanted to."

"Oh, and the best coffee in Dorset (actually tasted like coffee)."
